The previous owner of my car got wax on the plastic trim.
The trim is a black plastic and the wax gave it a white haze.
Does anybody know how to safely clean it?
It may smell, but amonia does an excellent job.Maybe you wanna use some kind of scented spray of something nice to spray afterwards.
Waxing the roof of a car.. Is it okay to get car wax on the moon roof?? If not, how can i avoid it??
I know that when you apply wax it leaves a white residue. But when your waxing the roof of your car, are you not suppose to get wax on the moon roof??
By definition a moonroof is glass. Wax won’t hurt glass and it would take a very powerful abrasive to scratch the glass. So…don’t worry about it, you’re fine. Do remove the wax off the rubber weather seal otherwise it makes the rubber look discolored. Hope this helps.

What is the best car wax to use in the USA?
I am from Asia and there are so many choices on the store shelves.
I want a high shine and good protection for my car.
I’m not afraid of hard work so ease of application is not important.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks
.
Mothers, Meguires, Turtle Wax, Raindance, 3M, Kit, and most of the others on the shelves will give you the shine you want. Those I listed by name will last the longest on your car before having to reapply.

does anyone know of anything that will take it off ? since soap and water dont do it.
please and thanks.
10 pt best answer for something that works ![]()
I got a bottle of "LAs Totally Awesome All Purpose Concentrated Cleaner" from the dollar tree for 1 dollar and it has soooo many application possibility…and "Wax Stripping" is one of them
Used at 5-1 ratio. Basically, add 5 cups water, 1 cup LAs Totally Awesome, in a pale or something then rub away
Just be careful, cause you don’t want it dripping and de-waxing your door panels, if you know what I mean.
Note, I haven’t tried it for this application, but this cleaner works wonders for everything else I’ve thrown at it, so it can’t hurt to give it a try

I am looking for something to give my car a real shine, some of the products are wax and polishers combined and I don’t want them as I am not looking to cover any scratches. I just want my car to have the just bought look.
Neither are very good. Look for products from companies like Meguiars, Mothers, 3M. Much better quality products that give a great shine.
One of my favorites is Mothers FX Synwax. You can get it at Pep Boys and most other auto parts stores. About $15.
And FYI….. its the polishing that makes the paint look perfect. The wax only protects the shine you created by polishing.
What is the best way to wax a car that is in perfect condition???
What brand of car wax do you recomend???…Thanks
I’ve recently used turtle wax ICE. It can be used in direct sunlight and doesn’t leave any dust or residue. It shines very nicely and even works on plastic and rubber to make them look new. For years I’ve used the McGuire’s three step system with excellent results.
No rubbing with ICE either
